Welcome! I’m Simon Meah, a friendly and patient driving instructor with a passion for helping you gain the confidence and skills you need to be a safe, independent driver. My focus isn’t just on getting you to pass your driving test, but on preparing you for life on the road. I work with learners of all levels, from beginners to those looking to polish their driving skills, ensuring you not only meet but exceed the required standards.

Every learner is unique, so I structure each lesson to suit your specific needs and learning style. Whether you’re nervous behind the wheel or need a more relaxed, steady pace, I adapt my approach to help you progress at your own speed. I specialise in supporting students who struggle with driving anxiety, offering a range of techniques and strategies to keep you calm and confident while driving. Together, we’ll make sure you’re not just ready for your test, but ready for a lifetime of safe driving.

I don’t just tailor each lesson to suit your individual needs — after you pass your test, I also offer a free ‘top-up’ session. It’s a great way to refresh your skills if it’s been a while since you passed, or to help you get comfortable driving your own new car.

I started the year feeling really nervous about learning to drive after having a negative experience previously. I reached out to Simon after seeing so many people in the local area recommend him, and I can absolutely see why. From day one, Simon was patient, calm and encouraging every step of the way. He is incredibly knowledgeable, but what really sets him apart is the genuine care he has for his students and how much he wants each person to succeed. Simon understands that everyone learns differently, and he never takes a “one size fits all” approach. If something wasn’t clicking for me, he would genuinely take the time to think about why and come back with a different or completely new way of explaining or practising it that worked for me. He really gets to know you as a student, how you learn best and what you need to build your confidence. What I also really appreciated was that we never just focused on passing the test. His approach is about learning how to drive safely and confidently in the real world, making sure that once his students pass, they actually feel capable of driving independently and dealing with whatever the road throws at them. Simon’s patience, knowledge and encouragement completely changed my experience of learning to drive. I went from being nervous and doubting whether I could do it, to feeling confident and genuinely enjoying driving. I couldn’t recommend Simon highly enough. He genuinely cares about his students, puts so much thought and effort into his teaching, and goes above and beyond to help you succeed. I’m so grateful I chose to learn with him. I’m glad I found Simon as he really helped to build my confidence. He tailored each lesson to how I learn, and explained the reasoning behind each action, instead of just telling me what to do. If there was something that I was struggling with, then he would help me find the reason why, and changed his approach to teaching me it to help solve the problem. He also taught skills that I would use driving day to day rather than only teaching me how to pass the test. His understanding of how everyone sees and understands and learns differently, really helped me learn the best ways for me to handle everyday driving and that I have the frame of mind to think for myself and act in unpredictable situations in a sate manner. He was also very understanding of my availability and worked with me around my work schedule and it's  unpredictable nature  to make sure I always got my weekly lesson. He was also very helpful with my theory Test as well sending me text questions and not only telling me if I got it right or wrong but the reason why it applies to real examples to reinforce my way of thinking so that could not know what I question was and still understand and think though it by my self. But to get to my point I don't think I'd be able find a better driving instructor to help me pass my test. Thanks Simon for everything

I came into lessons really nervous about driving and he was endlessly calm, patient, and understanding - never once made me feel silly for being anxious. He explained things clearly, let me go at my own pace, and helped me build real confidence behind the wheel. Thanks to him, I passed my test first time! Want a driving instructor......Simons your man ☺️ I was extremely nervous when i had my first lesson but them nerves quickly went. I cant thank Simon enough for his patience, understanding and very calm approach during my lessons but most of all im thankful for his time and effort he always put into every lesson. Never once did i feel under pressure. When ever i made a mistake he would reassure and continuously tell me "its fine its all part of learning" he lets you learn in a way that suits you. Simon was there from the minute my test started and was waiting when it finished with the most positive attitude and the biggest congratulations when i passed. After trying out a few different instructors over the years, Simon was the only one who truly adapted to how I learn. As someone with dyslexia, his tailored approach made a massive difference. He also took the time to help me unpick and rebuild how I manage my anxiety behind the wheel. He has an incredibly calm nature. While spending the first lesson focusing purely on left and right turns felt tedious at the time, it built the exact foundation I needed. My daughter had been for a disaster lesson with a different instructor so was even more nervous when she had her first lesson with Simon.  Simon was excellent from the first lesson putting her at ease, to after passing her test first time.  Her confidence grew massively in driving and also other areas, Simon teaches in a very unique way that really empowers the anxious or nervous first time driver.  I feel completely safe with her driving, knowing that she is extremely competent, and she has been prepared for being a safe and competent driver rather than just being taught to pass a driving test.
